Job Title: Kitchen Lead

Reports To: Restaurant Manager / General Manager

Job Summary:  

The Kitchen Lead oversees daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, managing food preparation, maintaining inventory, and promoting a positive and productive work atmosphere. The Kitchen Lead plays a key role in maintaining kitchen standards and supporting the team in delivering exceptional meals and service.

Key Responsibilities

             Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring smooth operations and timely service.

             Monitor food preparation to maintain consistent quality, portion control, and presentation standards.

             Train, coach, and mentor new and existing kitchen employees on recipes, safety, and cleanliness procedures.

             Enforce all health, sanitation, and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with local and state codes.

             Manage inventory levels, reduce waste, and oversee ordering of supplies as needed.

             Assist in scheduling staff and delegating tasks to meet workload demands.

             Communicate effectively with front-of-house and management to ensure efficient service flow.

•.      Ability to work all line stations as necessary.

             Support the Restaurant Manager in developing and improving menu items and kitchen processes and food ordering.

Qualifications

             Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen or food service leadership role.

             Strong culinary knowledge and understanding of food safety regulations.

             Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

             Ability to thrive under pressure and maintain a calm, professional demeanor.

             ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification preferred.

             Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

             Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in hot or cold environments.
